Partner with Education Matters to extend educational opportunities to every child in Roane County
The Roane Alliance launched Education Matters in 2009, and it has become a highly effective coalition of programs and partnerships. Funding ended as of June 30, 2016 for the Alliance’s Education Matters initiative, selected as a Best Practice program by the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce. To keep the program going, the Alliance initiated an Education Matters Fund Drive to serve Roane citizens, businesses and future workforce.
The program was selected as a Gold Award recipient by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for Excellence in Economic Development. Presented at an IEDC Annual Conference, the award recognizes "the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials and the year’s most influential leaders."
The Roane Alliance’s Education Matters initiative is an active and highly successful program that is making significant strides in moving our education and workforce development to the next level. We are reaching out to our community to change its mindset about the importance of education.
